Hello I'm Talulah!

You could say I've got personality - some might even say too much, but I say just enough! My legs are a little funny, and I've got some quirks, but I'm brilliant, beautiful, and bursting with energy. I don't like being bored, and I must be involved in everything. Now I'm a sanctuary cat and cafe star! I get to be exactly who I am, every single day. Get ready, world - I'm the main character.

My Story

Talulah came to us after being found dumped at a poultry farm, in very poor condition. From the beginning, it was clear something wasn't quite right with her back legs. She was diagnosed with "cow hocks", a condition where the hind legs turn inward, making the feet point outward. While not painful itself, this can lead to hip and spinal issues, and sometimes causes problems with toileting.

Because of her condition - and her pristine white coat - Talulah needed up to three baths a day when she first arrived. She was uncomfortable, messy, and clearly hadn't received proper care for some time.

Despite everything she'd been through, Talulah was incredibly affectionate from the start. We assumed she was simply relieved to be safe and loved again - something we often see with neglected cats. Once her health stabilised, she was adopted by a lovely family who were drawn to her sweet nature.

But Talulah's true personality soon made itself known.

At heart, Talulah is a bold, bright, high-energy cat. She's very vocal, highly social, and needs constant stimulation from humans, other cats, or both. When she doesn't get it, she finds her own entertainment: sometimes that means knocking things over, sometimes it means accidents around the house. As one team member put it: "She suffers from 'Main Character Energy'."

Unfortunately, her new family weren't able to meet her needs, and she was returned to us.

Many rescues might have marked Talulah as "unadoptable" - especially with her combination of quirky behaviour, high needs, and physical challenges. But we don't believe that cats like Talulah should be written off just for being different.

Instead, Talulah became a CATW Sanctuary Cat - and when we made plans for our cat cafe, she was the first name on the list of permanent residents. Even before the cafe opened its doors, she was thriving in the environment.

Talulah is funny, messy, demanding, affectionate, and utterly unforgettable. Beautiful Talulah has finally found the place where she truly belongs - and she'll never be left behind again.
