Accessibility Statement

Effective from: May 26th 2025
Last updated: May 26th 2025

We want everyone who visits our website to feel welcome and be able to use it with ease.

We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible for all users, including people with disabilities, neurodivergent visitors, and those using assistive technologies. We aim to meet the guidelines set out in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

What We're Doing

We've taken the following steps to support accessibility:

  • Clear, simple language throughout the site

  • High contrast text and readable font choices

  • Alt text for images, wherever possible

  • Keyboard navigability

  • Mobile and tablet responsiveness

  • Structured content using proper headings and labels

  • Avoiding auto-play media or flashing content

  • Supporting screen reader users

Known Limitations

We're a small, volunteer-run rescue with limited resources, so some areas of the site may not yet fully meet accessibility standards. For example:

  • Some images may be missing alternative text

  • Some PDFs or downloadable forms may not be fully accessible

  • Our online booking system relies on third-party platforms we don't control.

We are actively working to improve accessibility wherever we can. If you experience a barrier, we'd really appreciate your feedback so we can fix it.

Third-Party Content

While we aim to ensure the core site is accessible, we may link to or embed content hosted by third-party platforms (e.g. Facebook. booking tools, or donation portals). We can't guarantee the accessibility of external services, but we'll do our best to provide alternatives or support where possible.

Ongoing Commitment

We are dedicated to building a welcoming space for everyone - online and in person. Accessibility is an ongoing process, and your input helps us do better. Thank you for supporting our mission and community.
