Hello I'm Shadow!
"Handsome boy" "Cuddles"... I'm not entirely sure how or why I ended up here with these people who are obsessed with me, but I'm so grateful I did!
I've only just moved in to my new sanctuary home, so I'll update you all when I've gotten to know my new foster mum, I think she's going to be great. Even better she doesn't have other cats, I'm really not a fan of other felines in my space.
My Story
We had been unaware of Shadow, until we were contacted by a local family in the process of moving to another country, they said they had an older cat that they have owned for three years and unfortunately could not take him with them.
Shadow was surrendered to C.A.T.W and after many conversations with the family it became clear that shadow had likely been someone's missing pet many years ago, not neutered, microchipped or reported missing. When the family took him in, they also did not neuter him, or seek veterinary care or health checks.
Shadow arrived a bedraggled looking, older friendly cat with a large question mark over his past life and upon sight, a question mark over his health.
Shadow was swiftly taken to the vets to be checked over fully.
The vet predicted him to be around ten years old but very possibly older.
We were then informed that this friendly, loving old boy has arthritis, ear disease and dental disease.
Due to his painful and severe dental disease, Shadow has had to have all of his teeth removed.
Shadow will now receive Solensia injections for his arthritis to manage any pain and discomfort that he most definitely would have been in.
Although we don't know the full story of his past, we do know shadow will never be cast aside again - and he will always get the veterinary care and treatment he needs.
Shadow is currently settling in to his sanctuary home, where he will get all the love and care he needs.
