Hello I'm Dipper!
I love to socialise and play with everyone, you could call me outgoing. My favourite pastime is most definitely watching everything and everyone that goes past my favourite viewing window, honestly it's the best spot in the house! My foster mum calls me a nosey neighbour but I just can't help myself. I'm the best neighbourhood watch-cat if I do say so myself. I had a challenging start to life but now I'm living my best window watching life in my forever foster home.
My Story
Dipper is from a litter of kittens born outside who were being advertised on Facebook for free.
They came in to the rescue as a litter of four, Dipper with his three sisters Flurry, Kaylah and Cora.
All four kittens were clearly very poorly when they arrived, but with no obvious signs as to why or what was making them so poorly.
Unfortunately his sister Flurry quickly passed away and although we exhausted all efforts, his sister Kaylah died shortly after.
Dipper and Cora had to undergo extensive scans and tests. Once these were all completed and all results were back, the vets sadly diagnosed Dipper with AD-PKD (Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease), which is a hereditary genetic disease.
AD-PKD causes fluid filled cysts to form in the kidneys. These cysts grow over time compressing and damaging healthy kidney tissue, leading to kidney failure.
Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease and we can only offer supportive care to ensure Dipper is happy, pain free and as healthy as he can possibly be with his condition.
Dipper now spends his days playing, window watching and soaking up all the love, attention and care he deserves in his favourite place, the Catw Cafe.
