Hello I'm Cora!
I've been told I'm quiet and shy.. although I'd say I'm reserved and demure, you know a real lady of peace, tranquillity and leisure. I know how to enjoy the good life. I don't particularly like fraternising with the riff raff, so I really do love my calm forever foster home, almost as much as I love to sit and cuddle up on my foster mums lap.
My Story
Cora came to the rescue as part of a litter of four, that had been born outside and were being advertised for free on Facebook.
Once at the rescue they were named Cora, Flurry, Kaylah and Dipper, all four kittens arrived extremely poorly but with no obvious signs as to why or what was making them so poorly.
Unfortunately her sister Flurry passed away quickly after coming in to rescue and although all efforts were made her sister Kaylah also sadly passed away shortly after. This left just Cora and her brother Dipper.
Cora and Dipper had to undergo extensive scans and tests. Once these were all completed and all results were back, the vets sadly diagnosed Cora with AD-PKD (Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease), which is a hereditary genetic disease.
AD-PKD causes fluid filled cysts to form in the kidneys. These cysts grow over time compressing and damaging healthy kidney tissue, leading to kidney failure.
Unfortunately there is no cure for this disease and we can only offer supportive care to ensure Cora is happy, pain free and as healthy as he can possibly be with his condition for the rest of her life.
Cora now spends her days care free in her loving forever foster home where she gets all the love and care she needs and deserves.
